Liz Connolly, Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire
At Scottish Enterprise Lanarkshire we have always been committed to employee health and fitness. We are a winner of the Gold Standard Health At Work award which we are very proud of. We've had a gym on-site now for a while and initially didn't have a management company running it. It has mixed results.
A couple of years ago we became aware of Corporate Wellbeing and the services they provided. We decided as part of our ongoing committment to to staff health and wellbeing we decided to employ Corporate Wellbeing to provide some extra value to the services we already provide to our staff.
Corporate Wellbeing's effect has been been great. We now have between 30 and 35 percent of our staff exercising on a regular basis. This may not sound like much but when you consider only about 6% of adults in the UK participate in regular exercise you can see we are doing very very well.
